Who cleans their fish in the kitchen sink ?
I have seen lots of pictures of sinks full of fish and it just made me wonder.
I like the idea of standing at the kitchen sink in the ac doing it but don't think my wife would go for it?

Usually in the sink. I know my MIL is a stickler about everything in her kitchen, but she allows the FIL to put his crappie in there to clean

yeah thats a no go in my house. my papaw use to scald catfish in the sink. before he died, my friend and bass pro mike holt would filet them on his kitchen counter. lol, you could see the blood spatters on his ceiling.

I usually clean fish outside, but occasionally, prefer or need to do at an inside sink.
If it's too hot outside, storming, I may just do it inside.
Sometimes there is not a good place "outside" like when you're staying at the Hyatt Regency. I'm sure they love finding those fish scales in the bathtub!

Generally speaking, you should never clean fish in the kitchen when an anchor is in the house. Exception is usually permitted if you're in a hotel, or at a friend's house when his anchor is not around.

That brought back memories! As a very young boy I can recall bathtubs full of slimy catfish! There are pictures of it in moms family album. Yes, that is where he cleaned them and no one was gonna tell him different! Lol

I clean mine on a cutting board on the island in the kitchen. The smell clears out after an hour or so. More comfortable than standing out in the sun.

I've always done it in the sink. My daughter bought me a table from bass pro that has a sink and water hose hook up on it but I've yet to use it. I really need to try it out.

I have one of the cleaning tables with sink and hose hook up as well. Depending on the weather and or daylight, I will clean outside. Otherwise, the table gets moved into the shop where there's lights, heat and a/c.

I dont fish much myself, but as a kid my dad did and he cleaned them all in the kitchen sink. Mamma didn't fuss about it that I know of.. :)

Do it. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. 😁😆

I don't want them in my house unless it's fillets. I have a cleaning table/sink with water hookup at my barn where I keep my boat. I clean them there; keep a box of 1 gallon freezer bags in there for fillets. My scraps go in a 5 gallon bucket. When I am done I spray clean my table and knife, and throw my bucket of scraps in the side by side and run it down to the creek on our place to feed the snapping turtles.

Outdoor sink all the way. Quick and easy cleanup with a garden hose! Hot and cold water, and even a shower! Plus, I'm 6' 1" so it's several inches higher than a kitchen sink. No back issues from leaning over.

Bought a stainless steel table with wheels on it. Roll it out of the garage, fillet the fish, scrub and rinse the table then wheel it back into the garage. Birds or insects will quickly find all the small pieces that washed into the yard.

I clean them in the sink but only if my wife is not home. I have to clean the sink with bleach afterwards or she will smell it and raise cane. She doesn't eat fish or cook it and can't stand the smell.

We mainly night striper fish in the fall. They are some big carcasses to dispose of as there could be as many as 5 of us on the boat and that's a total of 10 fish. We clean them on the lake. I put brackets to slip one of those plastic sink tables onto the pontoon surround wall. Use a live well pump mounted on a pontoon for water supply. When finished with a fish, just puncture the sack and push it off the table into the water. No more horribly stinky garbage cans at home. No more getting up the day after night fishing to clean several fish. It's already in the freezer.
