But they was hens instead of Toms.
Decided to change gears since I haven't seen a deer since opening weekend. Went to a farm I have permission for and set out one decoy then tucked myself back in the brush along the field edge. Blind called off and on for aprox 2.5 hrs.
Ended up calling in 9 hens. 3 of them charged the decoys strutting and bumping the decoy. They was jumping on it and pecking the crap out of it. Made a 20 yrd shot with my Mathews and put a Rage in her cage. That made #12 with a bow for me. 9 in the spring and 3 in the fall.

Congrats, that sounds like a great hunt to watch.

It really felt like spring a few days ago when it was warm, and the toms were gobbling all over the woods, and I even called/stalked to 20 yards of a gobbling bird that was strutting and looking for me. Never got a shot though, can't shoot a bow through thick undergrowth. It was awesome to watch.
