Is this a grouse?

Not a grouse. They have blunt tails like a turkey with a dark band across it about an inch from the tip. That has a sharp tail….looks like maybe a hen pheasant…..

Thanks all. Yes a hen pheasant it is. I looked it up on Google and 100% hen pheasant. Rare sighting these days.

Most likely a escapee from a game farm.We are seeing Pheasants around Benton county fairly often. You pay for a hunt they release them before the hunt some get away.

I'm. Sure. About 5 years ago we spotted a male pheasant about 2 miles away
There are several places you can hunt Pheasants in Middle Tn. More keep popping up all the time. Most likely one somewhere around you.
