Went back to the range today with my Savage. I ordered some harvester red crush rib sabots to use. Im fairly pleased with the results.Its not the tightest group,but it is definatly better than what I was getting with the black MMP sabots. Started with a dirty barrel, and used a Harvester red crush rib sabot and 44grs AA5744 with a 250gr XTP.I ordered a box of 300gr xtp's,but I didn't open them yet.I may send them back now that im getting decent results with the 250gr XTP. I feel that if I just tinker with the powder charge a little up or down a grain,the group may shrink. Shot #4 went through the same hole as shot #1 did,you can just barley tell that shot #4 went through the same hole as shot #1. I shot 5 shots and gave it 15 mins betwen each shot. Picture is crapy,took it with my cell phone. Not sure of the proper way to measure a group,how big a group do you think that is? Each square on the target is 1 inch.
