no weight, no measurements... so how the heck do i get a replica??? Just the biggest crappie i've seen til this day. and the misses is awfully proud of this fish.

a taxidermist can help you...or should be able to. You will have to just pick a size that well represents her catch, as best as you can.

I have a couple unpainted replica black crappie in my shop you can come look at to get you started in your quest if you like. I am not far from ya at exit 47 on 840 and you dont even have to let me do it for ya. I think I have a 15, 17 and 18. Should help you get and ideal of what to order.

My guess is 16 - 17 inches long... call it 16.5. I figured that by measuring distance from my knuckle to first index finger joint = 2 inches.

Using that measure, from knuckle to first joint, I created a 2-inch line in Photoshop and duplicated those lines and laid them end to end. Basically came to a litle bit over eight 2-inch lines.

It's a very crude system... and the open mouth of fish is a huge variable. But I believe 16.5 inches is a very legitimate estimate and 17-inches woldn't be far off the mark. Most length-weight conversion charts will put a 16.5 inch white crappie just shy of 2.5 lbs.

A bragging-sized fish for sure.

thank you so much for you input gentlmen

I was going to measure the distance of her nose from right between her eyes to the tip, then see how many it took to fit the fish on a scale and fish 2.5 noses is = (such and such) lol

so if nose is 2 inches and 4 fit onto fish 8 inches... lol
