I have a 32 acre lease sandwhiched between a lot of no hunting land. Deer cross my lease constantly and we have killed does with consistency. Most of the bucks I have captured on trail cams are hanging up really close to the property line which is not marked but a line of cedars that criss-crosses that line are all tore up. I did some minor clearing on my side, did some throwngrow, did some attractant, did some trophy rock and the cam shows plenty of night pictures, nothing in daylight.

The adjoining property where the bucks are is corporate owned and no chance at all of getting permission. I'm thinking of some serious brush and sapling clearing on my side and maybe a real food plot. Any ideas?

Its in the lease I am required to cut live or dead trees and dump them in two places where erosion is starting to damage the property. The cedars are growing along an ancient logging road, most of which is 5 yards outside my line. The cedars have rubs and scrapes that look as if they have been used for years.

You may actually do more harm than good by clearing trees. I have seen BSK say that he recommends good cover over food plots in many circumstances.

Might post this question in the QDM forum and will likely get some good responses.

I would MUCH rather have thick cover than a food plot. Food will draw deer at night, but in the daylight deer are going to be near thick cover.
