I hate both teams, and wish that they both could lose, but that was not the type of play that hurts people. I know what the rule is, but I do not like it. It is applied too arbitrarily with no common sense used

Didn't see the play you're talking about but the targeting rule is stupid. Intent is good but nobody including the announcers know whats targeting and what isn't. I've seen 3 called in the bowls that I, the announcers, and the ref they have on standby thought would be overturned and they weren't. If you want to stop head to head contact remove the facemasks.

I don't like the rules as they are written either, but I don't see them lightening up any; except maybe the automatic ejection. That is ridiculous punishment for something that is obviously not intentional.

With the concussion stuff, and the threat of lawsuits etc., they are going to be as tight as they can.
