lookin hard at the S&W M&P 15 22 with the threaded muzzle and flash hider,,,I am poor white boy,,cant afford 5.56 and it breaks my soul havin an M4 and the Rem R15 and cant shoot them,,I am about to pull the trigger on one of these and mount a light on the quad rail and a 2-7 rimfire scope,,gonna be the ultimate frog gig and sguirrel rifle and may double as a coon rifle,,not to mention training the kids to shoot an AR plaform weapon,,not to mention myself,,best deal I find by next Friday gets ordered,,

I'm sure you know it but why not just get a dedicated upper in .22 lr and just swap uppers on your M4 when you want to shoot. I've heard good things about the Spikes Tactical uppers. Just a thought.

How much are they running right now mr.big? Seems like I saw one locally.

The problem I have with those things is do they help wear out your M4?? I mean I bought mine for a reason and I can see where you end up using the same gun and getting to know it better but is it the same?? NO. A 22 long rifle will never be the same shot as a 5.56 military round. If it was then I would buy one but to wear out my M4 with something that is not the same does not work with me.

Besides any excuse to buy a new rifle is a good excuse. :)

Wildcat, the whole topic was saving on ammo cost.

I like mine to train the wife and other family members with the actual weapon they would use in a SHTF situation while not costing an arm and a leg for ammo. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Plus, I don't like to shoot all of my SHTF 223 stash.

But I do agree with you on one thing, use every excuse you can to buy more weapons.
