Planned to take tomorrow off but I can change it to next week just don't really want too. What's everyone's opinion on hunting tomorrow. Supposed to rain til about ten where I am and the temp doesn't really supposed to go up at all tomorrow.

Thinking about the same thing. Rain is supposed to tail off around noon where I hunt with temps dropping throughout the day. . I've had success in rain before but have also been shut out. With the temps dropping throughout the day, I'm thinking about waiting and hitting the woods tomorrow afternoon and Saturday morning. I'd be interested in others thoughts on this as well.

Could be a snow flurry or two upon the hill too by late afternoon, if I had the extra time to take I think I would be out there buddy.

Spot & stalk in the rain is a good tactic. Basically, the rain causes the leaves on the ground to become "soft" and you can walk in the woods without making too much noise. Also, the wind is usually blowing, so this helps cover any sounds you'd make. I killed a nice 8 point one year doing this during a light shower. I walked the side of a ridge and just kind of eased along. Taking it really slow and just moving tree to tree, stopping at a tree and just waiting a few minutes. Eventually I saw that an 8 point was moving towards me. I just posted up behind a tree and waited for him to pass by before popping him.

I used to not worry about going a lot when it was raining. Now, you cant keep me from it as long as the whole job thing don't get in the way! Just get a tree umbrella or stalk em. You wont regret it unless is really raining hard

Deer move well immediately after a long period of rain. But you must be in position because they stand right up as soon as it passes. During the rut, anything can happen even during heavy rain if a buck finds a doe. Often as soon as she stands up it's off to the races. A light rain will keep your scent squelched down and give you an advantage. As mentioned it makes for quiet still hunting conditions.

Be set up already when the rain stops.

Love and hate hunting in rain
Love getting in quiet, scent is cut down
Hate scope fogs, gets cloudy, make sure muzzle barrel no rain goes in
Hate blood trails allot harder, hard to see red on wet leaves
Love/hate. Need to redry clothes but compact dryer makes this go fast, otherwise they never dry right and smell like mildy
Love. Seen deer move in rain but a little faster, kind of have to be ready to shoot them
Hate cant hear them at all, I usually hear deer first then see them, so hunting allot harder
Love. Less other hunters out.
Love Deer dragging easier

Still going out this afternoon.
