When you are able 2 hunt several hard days in a row. After about the 4 th or 5th day u become a zombie and when your back at ur job it's all u can do to hold your eyes open and every joint in ur body hurts. Lol. I actually enjoy this. I must have a problem.

I go back to work for a rest. Hunting kicks my butt.

By week 2 I lose track of the day, what bills are due, look like I've smoked a pound of weed, grumpy, losing weight, can't think straight, feel like I've been beat with a bat and yet saddened after it all ends wishing I had 1 more day.

Exactly! I literally hunt everyday but Sunday's unless it's pouring rain or 25mph winds and in the end I wish I could do it all again

Work can be physically demanding so I have to catch up on sleep fairly often. Wish I could turkey hunt several days in a row

I'm a bit of a health nut...except during turkey season. Unless it's lightning or pouring rain I'm rolling out of bed, poppin' a Diet Dew, and heading for the hills. Eat little, sleep deprived, and look forward to it every year as long as God will let me.

Yeah me to. It sucks having to wait for the weekends.

Work, family and my farm need lots of attention, so I usually don't get out as much as I'd like to. Hoping for my wife to have baby number 6 tonight so I'll br off for at least 21 of the next 28 days! If yall will, pray with me that the baby comes tonight...wife is getting a little irritable being 2 weeks late!

Baby number 6. Good gosh man you do know what causes that don't you lol.

I have 3 and that's hard enough, can't imagine 6. You sir are my hero haha

I'm 45. It's not as easy as it once was. To compensate, I do P90x3 throughout the week, weighted pack hikes on weekends and when I can sneak away during the week, and eat pretty decent always. Some days its harder than others to get out the door, but once up, I'm good to go. All this so I can hunt as hard as I can for 4 weeks a year. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'd love to hunt some during the week but schedule doesn't really allow it as I take my son to school every day. I do have one driving now that can take him to school so that might open me up a time or two if a weekday is going to be picture perfect weatherwise. Outside of that I'm relegated to the weekend. :bash:

This will be the first year I can hunt during the week. I now have a spot fifteen minutes from the house so it will enable me to hunt before work.

I'm blessed to work in the hunting and fishing world and the ability to work from home. Also I'm blessed that my boss understands when it's rut and turkey season and both times of year he knows not to expect me to be online before 8:30.

I'm even more blessed to have a wife that while doesn't understand it is accepting that I'll be gone the month of April as far as helping get the kids ready in the mornings. It's good to read about others that shows you areas of your life that you are beyond fortunate

I'm fortunate to be in a similar situation. My work is flexible enough so that I can hunt almost every morning. If I'm on birds, I can stay with them; if not, I will come into work. My boss and immediate co-workers all know this and have accommodated me for years. About early March, they even ask when is turkey season :) . It is one of the reasons why I have never seriously looked at changing jobs.

My wife and girls (now mostly grown) also know that I am about to drift into my "dark" zone, and to basically stay out of Grumpy's way for the next six weeks :D !

I am truly blessed!

I've never had a place to turkey or deer hunt less than a 1 hour one way drive from home. Sometimes that drive was 3 hours one way. When I was working I'd take vacation and hunt 30 straight days at a time. Now that I'm retired I hunt every day except those opted out due to bad weather. Working and driving 3 hours to hunt, driving back to work, and then driving back to hunt I'd go 3 or 4 days a week before I'd have to rest up a couple days before hitting it again all throughout the season. I really envy those of you that can be hunting 10 minutes from your home.

Im fortunate in my work that it doesn't matter when I do it as long as I get it done when needed. Some days I cant go but most days I can work around it. And gravey I take kids to school. I get to the woods lots of times at 8:15. But I notice after about 5 days straight it takes a toll on my old body. LOL
