Should I wait to plant. Still not a real good chance of rain here in sight. What is the latest you would wait til you just go ahead and have to plant?

I have successfully planted wheat/oats/rye in southern Scott County as late as October 11th. You will be fine anytime between now and the first week of October. Cereal grains are most attractive to deer during the first 60 days of growth. I try to plant anytime between September 15th and October 5th. That way they are establishing while deer are focusing on acorns and still very attractive to deer into early December.
Depends on what you are planting.
