I have a Hi Point 995 9mm carbine for sale. It came in a gun package deal I bought, with a red dot sight on it but without a magazine. I bought a 15rd magazine for it and ran a few rounds through it. I put a fresh 2032 battery in the red dot and made sure it works. $300 $275 $250 $225 picked up in the greater Memphis or Jackson areas.

I have one in .45acp. Their pistols are junk but the carbine's, no complaints. They fire every time and are plenty accurate. Nice under the seat truck gun. Someone is getting a good deal here!!

Have you actually had trouble with the pistols? I've shot a BUNCH and honestly never had an issue. Certainly not carry's but our always functioned.

I took the 1st cousin to this carbine in trade (.40 SW) - was mint - 3 mags and the stock had a place to attach mags. And it came with 1000rds of .40. Youngest had been in his 1st house 7-8 months and I always give em a gun at Christmas. Asked him what he needed - "dad I need a CHEAP semi-auto rifle I can hang up over the back door" .. "that if it were to get stolen not being in the safe - no terrible loss". So 3 Christmas's ago he got a HiPoint carbine .40 - red dot - and 990 rds .. I sighted it in and he still shoots the thing. Has shot a Yote with it in his back yard and missed a few more ..

Ive never had one with that "can like" apparatus on the front

It's definitely not a suppressor. I know next to nothing about them (hi point firearms) myself. I do know that the red dot works and I had no problem hitting a steel plate at 25yds rapid fire with this little jewel.

I've not shot any of the pistols, but the few I have handled seemed top heavy and clunky. You added the caveat "Certainly not carry", and I would agree. But I only carry 1911's and haven't had any issues with them. I do have a couple of .38 revolvers but they're more backup than primary and I'll carry one of them when I'm more concerned about snakes than two legged problems, like fishing or picking blackberries.
