Deer move with the pressure. If many people hunt the island then they move to the nearby subdivisions. On the main channel side there are some big sawtooth oaks that should have lots of acorns. Lots of cover in the fields and a beetle killed pine thicket on the west side that has about 10 years worth of understory growing. When it was a drawn hunt it averaged about 15 deer a year. Total size is about 350 acres.

Lots 0f ppl hunt the island.I had ppl walk in at 9 on opening morning with crossbows and no tree stand just walking around.

Last time I hunted it was about 4 years ago and I won't go back...lots of people hunting...same thing as Kasey experienced...people walking around with cross bows without stands. Never saw a deer when I hunted it.
