I've never hunted dove but I hope to this season.

I am checking out different spots to hunt and I see a few large fields and some smaller ones. Which are better? 20-40 or 60 acres or the smaller 5-6-10 acres fields?

Also, is there a big difference when selecting what surface to hunt over? Some have chopped corn, some have sunflowers chopped, some have other stuff like buckwheat and wheat that's chopped or top sown?

I don't have a clue except for I would like to hunt and I would like to eat a dove.

Try to scope out a spot on the end of the field or where there's a gap in the tree line.

I'm not sure how much it will matter with the cold front that just rolled in. Birds got scarce overnight seems like.

If your hunting alone, I would suggest hunting the smaller tracts (given that they have some birds)

Hunt wherever the birds are at other than that. Should be wearing out the corn and sunflowers
