He played on the N/C team. I'm sure we heard of him and he turned out to be a good NFL player. You can blame the Gators for beating Peyton that year..

Gator, you're wrong about this.Wrangler's timeline on ABC/ESPN's obvious hype of a no- name player at the time might be off by a couple weeks, but he is exactly right. I found it odd that you disagree with Spurrier and a whole bunch of Florida fans on this. Sometimes I think you argue with people just for the fun of it.

You guys might want to read my post again.... I never stated that Woodson should of beat Peyton out of the Heisman. I just stated the fact that he was a good player and in most cases back then, they gave it to the best player on the best team. Woodson made some big plays down the stretch to help Mich. Into the spotlight. Considering that Mich. won the the N/C that year, Woodson fit the bill......

Spin it any way you want. The fact is ESPN/ABC manipulated the the process and the eventual outcome in a manner like never before. All for the benefit of increasing interest and revenue in a year where one person was running away with the award.

Peyton is a one of the great QB to play the game but, their where a lot of players that I could rank above him.
