Just passing along... I watched a particular doe get run all day on November 9th by the nicer 8 that comes around here. He never left her side all day and they were together at dark. I didn't see him breed her. Today is 7 weeks later and she is getting run by a smaller buck. I've seen her squat a couple times. Her hocks are black. I haven't seen him breed her. They have moved off where I can't see them any more.

The doe is injured so maybe she didn't take first cycle.

Not sure but she may keep coming in heat until she's bred and it sticks .

If she's still able to reproduce ....

Most likely what causes late summer births.

Exactly how it works, they cycle approximately every 28 days until bred if they are healthy.
