It's been a while but i am back and enjoying getting everyone's tips. This weekend i saw something i had not seen that impressed me and thought i would share. While visiting a property, the owner's cultipacker broke and he did not have a harrow. To get the job done, he strapped two large cedar trees to the back of an ATV and dragged the field. I may try it this weekend just to save on time.

A section of weighted chain-link fence also works, but these types of "drag covers" tend to drag your seed to low spots.

Rain plants seeds very well.

As long as the soil has been turned or they seeds are very small. Rain alone doesn't plant large seeds on hard ground very well!

I disk, drag, seed, re-drag.....eliminates the "spots".
