Smokeless H4198 load ?

Last season I shot 250 gr sst's with 44 gr of 5744 and it did fine but I wanted to try something different so I bought some H4198 and I'm going to switch to the 300 gr BO. I'm more intersted in accuracy but speed is ok too so I wanted opinions on loads. How many grains of the 4198 do I need to shoot ? I'm shooting a stainless Savage ML-II. Thanks

65-70grs h4198 with the 300gr BO.

65 gr. and a BO in an orange MMP worked pretty good in my ML-II.

I shoot 70gr. of H4198 with a 300gr. Parker Match Hunter over a wool wad out of my .45 RemPac with teriffic results.

There are two different calibers being discussed above.

Be careful. Smaller diameter makes pressure quicker. I had to actually look up cleatus2506's 45 load as I thought it was excessive-

borderline for my taste at 43,000 +/-, but safe.

I think we need to make certain to quote caliber with our loads.

Good catch ewc! I didn't even think about the calibers being different, though I should have. Sorry for any confusion!
