I am wondering what would be the best to take. I'll have the .44 magnum S&W & believe that non-HP bullets would be the best bet. I doubt I would go wrong with the 45-70 & 405gr non-HP bullets for that. I'd worry about damage on smaller hogs & smaller ones are what I'm more after for this hunt. The .44 is a good thumper - I've toyed with the idea of taking the .223 for the smaller ones, however I believe I'd feel better (safer) with the 45-70. I will be hunting from the ground. Any tips or ideas I've not thought of yet?

I killed a 165ib sow yesterday with a perfect shot made from my butt about 10 feet away! My 30/30 with 150gr round was perfect clean pass-thru and she piled up about 15-yards from where she was hit.
