gun cases

I have a small problem, I need a gun case, but I want a hard case, with the smoth foam. I am wanting to cut the outline of my 204 in the foam. I cant spent a small furtune on it. Is it too hard to get the snugg fit with the eggshell foam.
Any suggestions would be greatful.
