Hopefully Thursday. I know they said Saturday was suppose to be 5-10mph winds the night before, woke up and they were 15-20.
Haven't had a calm morning since opening weekend.
Yeah it sucks. Had one hammering after fly down this morning but it was so windy I couldn't tell where he was, by the time I figured it out he got with some hens and quit gobbling. I found him later out in a field strutting with the hens on the neighboring property so I left and went home.
Wind wasn't bad up here the last few days but the gobblers here are either staying with hens all day long or not interested in breeding at all. Everyday on my way to work the past week and 3 times on sat I drove by one field where a farmer feeds cattle there are 3 longbeards that stay at that feeder from daylight till dark. Maybe they are gay?

I'd prefer not to hunt in the wind but there's not much choice in the matter. I have had a couple of great super windy hunts though. Once I had the wind blowing gale force from me across a field I was sitting on. It was blowing the sound of my calls to the birds. When they stepped out into the field I could see they were gobbling their heads off but I couldn't hear them at all. As they strutted across the field the wind was spinning them around and around in circles. I guess it made one of them dizzy because he fell down at my shot.
