Had a good day in the grouse woods. We moved 3 and shot one. We heard several birds drumming but not till around 11 oclock. I hunted my short hair with a buddies english pointer and had a fantastic day in the woods and it was great to see the dogs run. It was the first time out for both the dogs and their people so we all wore out quickly but not before seeing some great dog work and a few pretty points which was worth all the walking.
The dead bird was on a steep slope in fairly open woods and the others in super thick and steep older burned sections of the mountain we were hunting.

Nice job. Sounds like a very productive TN grouse trip. Good dog work makes it the most enjoyable for me. Of course thats just because I'm a terrible shot! Very jealous about a hunting trip on a weekday!
