Saturday evening had a cool encounter with a 6+ year old deer I know well. Found some hot feed trees on the edge of a powerline break, couldn't find a tree to climb so I opted for a ground hunt. 8 yards with a bow, read the script perfectly just not the deer I am after in that area. Still got the blood pumping and made me feel good about my decision.

Ground hunt update, I've hunted this deer religiously for two years. 35 sits this year alone, well over that last year. Passed on several mature deer and some that I shouldn't of passed on. But yesterday morning the deer I was after read the script, took the exact trail I was hoping for and gave me a 35 yard broadside shot. Deer hunting is a lot of "You Reap What You Sow", a lot of work went into this deer and now the chase is over.
