Food Plots Great surprise today

I was spraying a few food plot fields today to kill grass and weeds that have grown this year. I drove up on a covey of quail. There were over 12 little birds that flew in front of my UTV, the mature birds just walked out of the way ;o) First covey I've found in three or four years.

That's awesome! I was talking to a buddy earlier this year that saw a quail for the first time ever on his place

We've got several as well. Fifth rowing pines 5 years ago seems to agree with them. Singles were really sounding off towards end of turkey season, love to see & hear them!

I let out 100 or so this year, hope they make it, been trapping a LOT of coons

I spent a lot of time trapping this year as well. Maybe trapping and allowing the fields to grow nesting cover helped turkey and quail.

Found 2 coveys last year where they haven't been in a decade... Hopefully a little comeback we shall see..
