If you're getting the former 2 then yes. Sorry, not an A.R. fan. I don't mind them, and I sure wouldn't want to look down the barrel of one, But I'd rather have those 2 reliable pistols than an A.R. JMHO!!
Not sure if an Armalite brings a huge premium in the AR world but you can get a pretty decent AR for well under 1000.00. Assuming the Redhawk is 44 mag that alone should be worth 600.00 and 1911 should be worth at least 500.00. Personally I would rather have the pistols. Heck if you are not hung up on having a big name lower on your AR you can build one for under 600.00

I agree here as well, Armalite is pretty good stuff. Lots of those Redhawks for sale right not for around $500. The GI Springer is also about a $500 gun. If the Armalite is in good shape it would be a fair trade. Not a smokin deal but fair for sure.
Ruger 44- nice pistol if you like .44's been there done that/Springfield GI .45- Springfield makes some nice .45's but the GI model is a bottom dweller in thier line up.Armelite Ar's are good stuff, which I would prefer over either of the pistols.
