Had a button come in at 8:10 and hang around for about 1/2 an hour, then waited till 10:39 before I saw him....yep him. He was on the next ridge over. I saw him briefly coming down the ridge, towards me, then, as has been the case so many times over the years...he vanished. I believe he is the 10 pt that I've recently seen on my cams. Other than that brief bit of excitement, a group of about 5-6 does sauntered thru on another ridge about 30 min later. I almost took a 100 yd shot at an OLD doe, but thought better of it and let her pass...too many limbs between her and me. All this to say, it took a long time before they started moving, and I attribute this partly to the cold, and partly to the full, or nearly full, moon. Heck, I could have just waited till 7:00 to head out, instead of being in the tree by 6:00. One thing for certain...it sure was cold!
