Alright story time. I saw this buck a couple mornings ago as I was walking to my stand with my flashlight probably 15 mins till shooting light and he eased off. Didn't hunt yesterday because my son was sick. So I headed out this morning and got in the stand about 45 mins before daylight. I'm set up on a fresh scrape line and have found some huge cedars rubbed down that were fresh this week. It was real foggy at the bottom this morning but when I got to the top there wasn't any fog. Then right at daybreak the fog started rising. I was thinking great and was thinking about taking a nap and looked down and this boy was 15yds walking by me. I cocked my hammer and he froze and looked right up at me 25ft up and I didn't have a clear shot. I waited a couple seconds and I eased over a couple inches and found shoulder in my scope and dropped the hammer. There was so much smoke and the fog I knew there was no way I missed and it cleared and there he laid.
