This may be a "call" type question but I thought I would try.

Say you get drawn for a blind at Gooch.
It is a "marginal" blind spot.

You don't want to sink the money to build a big duckblind.

Would it be legal to simply hunt it old style by leaning against a tree or maybe even a layout blind?

May be a stupid question, but hey, ya never know till you ask. :D

I can't speak for Gooch, but the Rules and Regulations for most of the waterfowl area requires you to build and camo a legal blind (defined in the regs) by a certain date. If you have not done so, you forfeit your claim to the blind spot and persons on the "standby" list are given the opportunity to build and hunt the spot.

So, my guess is no, but it is probably worth a call to confirm.
