I'd guess weather. They got their winter coats on and used to the uncharacteristically cool weather we've had lately, only to get blasted with near 80* temps again. It was frosting a week ago.

Weird year, my old bucks are moving in daylight like crazy last 3 days. Had a new 5.5 y/o cull shift onto the property last week and he is doing his darndest to run every other buck away from this spot.

Usually I don't get any daylight pics of 4.5y/os until around Nov 8-10th.

Weird year for sure. I think it's mostly weather and lack of acorns. Winter coats when it's warm and no carbs for energy can really dampen their movements. I'm just surprised none have shifted in our area, but with as hot as it's been, I don't blame them for not wanting to make the excursion. However, after this rain and cooler weather moved in last night, I'd suspect to see some new bucks on camera when I check this coming weekend.

I don't believe bucks go nocturnal. Sure, they might not move as far during day hours, but no way a deer can lay down before daylight and not get up til dark.
You just have to get close to their bedding area this time of year.
