has the Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 on sale for $470.00. They normally retail for $700. Just a little heads up if you are interested.

Someone must have traded it in for a couple of boxes of bullets

I'll have to agree with that. I finally got up there a couple of months back and saw that I could get bullets from other suppliers including shipping cheaper than I could buy their's off the shelf.

Have one in Jackson. Had a problem with a fairly new rifle (purchased elswhere) and took to their gunsmith for repair. They did not submit for warranty or anything, and charged me about $60. A month later the problem re-ocurred so I called the manufacturer. The manufacturer replaced the gun. If the problem was that pervasive, then there had to be a service bulletin that Gander should have referred to.

Knoxville store is ridiculous.

Was by the store so I popped in to get a box of shells(I knew they were high but was in a pinch)

This week stopped in bass pro and bought same box for $5 cheaper and then found out the box was another 10% off. BP ended up being about $6 cheaper for the same box. WOW

i'll never buy anything else from them after the ordeal with my bow

Amen to that. They don't know squat. When I was there for my bow the guy kept throwing all these fancy terms my way to make himself sound smart. I wanted a simple tune-up and they tried to charge me an extra 50 bucks and lost one of my limbsavers. After all that they had the nerve to try to sell me something. I dont care if they give away remington model 700 .300 mags...I'd go somewhere else to get one to give Gander one less customer.

I never ever will buy handloading gear from them. They are worse about price gouging than the gas/oil companies.

$80 for 50 300gr .45-70 partitions? I seriously think not when I can get the same thing for $40.

They seem very high priced to me as well, but they did have Wal-mart beat by $4 on loose 777. G-Mountain $24 and change, Wally-World $28 and change.
