I used to mtn bike with a club and we'd go to LBL and do the Dog Daze 50 miler in August. We use to do day trips and decided to start camping.
Well, my wonderful wife buys me a new tent as a surprise. I'm looking at the case and think wow this is a nice and big tent. This is in 2001, we'd been married about 5-6 years and no kids yet. Other wives are going and she gets excited and going too.
Get to our campsite and start opening the tent for the first time to set up. We're in the KY part of LBL. They accidentally gave my wife the wrong case. It was the right tent, so to speak, but it was MUCH smaller version display that hangs from the ceiling. It was 3' long X 2' wide X 2.5' high. Had to leave the campsite and drive around KY, which I had no idea where anything was to find a tent suitable for the weekend.
LESSON LEARNED: TEST GEAR BEFORE LEAVING HOME!LOL! My son sets that tent up in his room to play in from time to time. That's how small it was.
