I've been trophy hunting unsuccessfully all season in TN, but I hunted our MS farm this morning. This is our fun place. I did a series of grunts at 715 and this buck came charging out of the thicket looking for a fight. The 7mm-08 dropped him like a bag of hammers. He's not a giant but it was a fun experience and it got me fired up.

Getting fired up is what it's all about. Some of my funnest hunts resulted in me taking smaller bucks.
With that being said I'm talking bucks much smaller than that in some instances.

Having fun and getting fired up is what it is about. QDM and horn hunting has put a damper on some of that. Congratulations on a nice deer and a fun hunt.

Absolutely. The club I'm in in Tennessee is pretty strict on bucks so you are always worried about shooting one that doesn't measure up. It takes a lot of fun out of it.
