Its been pretty frustrating to say the least.I have between 20 and 25 hunts in so far this season, with a total of between 60-80 hours on stand..I quit keeping track of the hunts after my 15th hunt,so im pretty sure it should be between 20-25 now.I also, always sit till 11 am on morning hunts, and sit from 5pm to dark on evening hunts. Now get ready for this,I've seen a grand total of 2 deer from the stand. And im pretty sure it was the same deer that I seen both times.LOL I have 4 properties to hunt all to myself.Im hunting the same spots I hunted last season that I was seeing a ton a deer from. They are as follows in size..100acres,50 acres,45acres and 70 acres. So nothing too big.I feel I have these properties pretty well covered with stands, but im just not seeing the deer.

I have next week (oct 15-19) off for vacation,i've come to the conclusion that if I don't start seeing some deer during that week, that im gonna call it quits on bow season and wait for muzzleloader season to open and let all the places calmn down some..Im hunting myself to death..

Man i hate that for ya. Maybe you should take a week off before you get burnt out on it. Hope it gets better for you. You might go tomorrow and your whole season turn around for the good!

Im having a frustrating season as well but I'm seeing deer just making rookie mistakes on shooting and have missed 5 times this season. Patience is a virtue and something that has escaped me this season

Pretty good chance your deer have moved. If you are hunting like that and not seeing deer, my guess is you are hunting where there are no deer.

I ran trail cams on these places back in the summer and up to deer season.About 2 weeks before season opened,on one property I was getting 800 pics in a 3 week time span. The other property I was getting roughly 400-500 pics in a 4 week period.Im seeing fresh deer tracks but just no movement. Im watching the wind also,so,not alot of acorns either. They aren't really dropping yet.

Im in the same boat you all are in i have not seen nothing since opening weekend i did see 4 this morning 2 running across the field in the dark and 2 at 467 yrds so my season sux so far. Good luck hope yours getts better

I hunted Scott county yesterday and had one doe appear from nowhere right under my stand. Could have dropped an arrow straight down and speared her in the back. Never could get a shot off due to foiliage once I got an arrow nocked. She never busted me. Good news is that was first hunt of the year for me and it is a grand total of 1 deer more than I seen all of last year from the stand with similar hours spent as you. Are you seeing any acorns in your neck of the woods because I could not find a single one where I hunt (south side of BSF by Rugby) and that was with a few miles of scouting in the mid-day between hunts.

There are acorns, but far from a bumper crop.I don't think they have started dropping yet...

Seems like usually there are plenty on the ground this time of year.

add another hunt and another 3 hours to that list, with 0 deer seen...Im taking a few days off,and gonna gather my thoughts and do some scouting..On the bright side,I did see 8 deer on the side of the road during the 4 mile drive home from where I hunt this evening.

I have similar experience from years of (15)alone here in Tn....and i dont see alot of bucks during bow season, esp. mature ones. What i do is wait for weather changes, rain coming, going cold fronts etc. and hope for the best Only once or twice during each of the last 5 years have i had a great opportunity on a good shooter buck and last year it was on Oct. 15th. who knows may happen yet but it usually is the month of Nov. for me before i get to seeing them with regularity and that is because of the rut.

Cec, the deer I'm seeing in our neck of the woods are still hitting fields pretty hard. My yard seems to be the only place around with ample acorns. They are few and far between most places I've seen around here and in Scott County.

Maybe your acorns have dropped and you just don't have many and the deer have moved to a better food source.

Im begining to think they are staying in the fields also.Thats where im seeing them on my way home in the evenings.Bad thing is,I only have 1 field to hunt, and its about waist high with briars and weeds.I may have to hunt it tomorrow evening.

Dang I guess I have had a good year so far, not been on as many hunts as you but seen deer almost every time and killed one so far, got busted a few times too which I am real good at lol

Hope the deer start moving for you soon. Sorry to hear it's been slow, best of luck.

Glad im not the only one. I have 8 hunts in and not saw the first deer. I hunt the wind and have tons of trail pics of deer using the area. The frustration is building.

have you tried corn?
seriously?

sure, but dont get down if that dont work either. i hunted over my feeder this weekend and didnt see anything worth bragging about so i moved to the white oaks and did much better.

I've hunted 4 times so far and I have not seen a deer in the stand. I jumped 4 on the way in sunday, 2 on the way out saturday afternoon. and 2 before that. Seems like everyone I hunt with isn't doing that great with a small 8 (gross 105) and a dog sized doe. At least your not the only one not killing anything, there are plenty of us!
