Creole seasoned and fried. On Ruger's fine china. I'm sure he would have liked a plate.

I wish I could say I caught them. But I didn't. Food City sells them in the freezer section.Where did you acquire those?
I can eat store bought/farm raised frog legs but imo they aren't remotely close to wild ones!
Wuuuuut?! Say it ain't so @TAFKAP !They're all farmed in China, so it's a "NO!" for me dawg
Chicom dawg is what makes them so big! They're all farmed in China, so it's a "NO!" for me dawg
Chris Stapleton is good music. Drink a beer. Forget about that China crap. These are Vietnamese Frogs Legs. Whole different amphibian hereOkay, now I need 'splaining... how in the heck, are frog legs Chinese here?! I traveled. A lot. Them critters were fresh from the pond/swamp. Perhaps, day drinking is the problem right now (see the Skynyrd thread in General), but....
"Lt.Dan" posting about frog "legs," and hearing the Chinese are supplying us... is a bit too much for me at the moment.... Someone, pretty please, break it down for a hayseed?
I now, return me to another beer and Chris Stapleton.![]()
I am pretty aware of them Asian folks... been there, done that. Got the memories to last a life time. They feed them sewage over there. Frogs and swai get big in a hurry. Don't buy them unless it says 'Mississippi Farm Raised'.
Oh, great shades of Elvis-I had NO idea. And I would NOT let my brother know about those!Chris Stapleton is good music. Drink a beer. Forget about that China crap. These a Vietnamese Frogs.

A lot of the Talapia in the stores are from China. No thanks for me.
I was watching a youtube of a guy in Florida cast netting for them. Apparently they have established in places there. He caught over 400 pounds in one day and sold them to a fish market.Even non-Chinese tilapia is a trash fish with near-zero nutritional benefit.
Looks great...Sure do miss the stories and photos of Ruger's Fine ChinaCreole seasoned and fried. On Ruger's fine china. I'm sure he would have liked a plate.

I never heard they had near-zero nutritional benefit.
Personally I never have eaten tilapia. I prefer Cod or Haddock. You get some meat on those filets. It's been a while since I read up on it all, but basically all the beneficial nutrients people seek out by eating fish (Omega-3's specifically) are lacking/nonexistent, and certain inflammatory agents are much higher in tilapia than other fish. So take a non-nutritious fish, bland-tasting so people prepare it in less-than-nutritious ways, and you're worse off for eating it while you think it's a good fish.
In 2026, replace tilapia with cod for a nutritious and still-affordable whitefish.
