We almost always took a turkey(s) in deer season and while hanging and butchering deer the wives cooked up the turkey with some gravy homemade biscuits, taters and eggs. If we didnt have turkey it was the sweet meat (inner tender loin) of deer, With fried taters conrnbread green beans. Love me some wild turkey but best was when we had both. Not much of us left now for those group hunts/cooks, Everybody left with full bellies and meat for the freezer.
