Any of y'all have any descent recipes or ways of fixing them? I found the mother load behind the house this evening. I got a few pounds in a bag. Left the rest for another time.

Using only the softest most tender parts sliced up. I like them sautéed with onions in butter, add a little water so they don't dry out and cover. sometimes I will add a little jalapeño pepper.
I don't but I wished I knew good to eat mushrooms from good way to die mushrooms

I hear you. I am still learning mushrooms. Wife and I are foraging around the house and have made some excellent finds. Just made a batch of red bud jelly which is freaking awesome, wild violet flower syrup, chicken mushrooms, tinctures from eucnhnia (the fuzzy stuff that grows on some trees). East Tennessee has a ton of natural edible plants.
By the way popcorn, since I posted this I just had an omelette with the chicken mushrooms and garlic with butter and home run!

got to tell you, If you pass these bad boys up in the woods your missing out. I have had them in omelette and sautéed and like chicken strips They're awesome. And free I found another mother load I'm going after today.

Oh my gosh, if that's poison oak growing next to it I would be dead before I got it back to the house!
