Go ahead and get this started for the year. Hope everyone has good luck and stays safe this year.

Just for everyone's situational awareness has of right now the entire101st Airborne Division will be out in the training area from the 1st of November through the 21st of November so there will be no hunting. This could obviously change with Veterans Day falling in there. But right now they are staying out all 21 days.

Even though I am retired I still have a lot of friends on post between 5th Group and the 101st. Plus I am a DOD employee now on base. I heard this at work and confirmed it with a buddy who is a Battalion commander in division. Plus my old team from 5th Group can not reserve any of the ranges in November because the 101st has them all booked up. If I hear anything else I will put it on here.

Thanks for the insider update. There's gonna be quite a few hunters who will need time to replan their rut…

I haven't seen the numbers this year. Last time I checked there was no update on ISPORTSMAN. I know Roost1 may have some inside baseball news though.

I didn't see a change there either but I just redid my background check and whatnot so I wasn't sure if I glanced over it somewhere else

If they do change it I am assuming it will be put out officially on ISPORTSMAN with the updated season dates and bag limits.

Gotta love a month in the box.
Hey I did it for 23 years and loved it, the only thing all that time in the Army made me dislike is the rain. You will not catch me out in it if at all possible. After laying in the rain and the mud and getting soaked for days on end in 45-50° temperatures I am good. The only time I will hunt in the rain is during turkey season from a ground blind. Other than that I will be at the gym or doin something else. And has you all know Fort Campbell has a weather monkey in the back forty just cranking away rain out of nowhere lol.

I like listening to the rain, but how my BDE set up training events at Riley they made sure it was going to rain. I think the whole duration we were in a box, regardless of where we were, it would rain 90% of the time. So I may not have spent that long in, but I understand the rain thing. Too many times standing, sleeping, or digging tracks out of the mud and in the rain.

Well I wasn't mech I was in the 101st and 5th Group my whole career. So no vehicles for us to really use. Just a poncho for a lean to. But from talking to my buddies that were mech that hated that stuff especially when track broke in the rain.

I know all too well what you mean. I spent almost 4 years there in the late 1980s, at the end of Indiana Avenue from where 5th Group was located back then. Every single time my unit went to the field we got pissed on! lol There was a bad drought in 1988 and 1989, and local farmers were hurting for rain. Told my 1SG that was an easy fix - all they had to do was send our unit to the field and it would end the drought.

Any of you guys in here got any idea where a man can slugs? Been shooting the Remington Barnes but that might be a thing of the past. Shooting a 220.

Never tried them but bout to get 5 boxes. Thank you!
Those trophy copper shoot great out of my 220! I shoot the 3 inch but you better get what you can the way things are at this point. I bet they will shoot good, Mine are very consistent and accurate.
