What do you think? This is about 15 yards wide,200 yards long. The rest of the field is clover, and fruit/sawtooth trees, some may produce this year. Was thinking about corn,or just letting it grow up in weeds, like Quailman was saying.BTW,this is Buffalo River bottom dirt, should grow anything.Just wanting to mix it up some.

Football Hunter,

I would create concentric rings. The outermost ring would be early succession weeds, tall grasses and briers. The next inner ring would be standing corn or a mixture of corn and climbing beans. This would produce concentric "ecotones" that would aid in deer usage during daylight. Basically, you would creating staging areas into the main central food plot.

Actually Football Hunter, what I mentioned was that you should utilize your best land (based on soil quality) for food plot production, since you are somewhat limited with an abundance of food plot areas on your property. If you had ample acres of open land, then yes, I would promote more native "weeds" as well. For some of the "poorer" open areas (ridgetops, etc.) I would definitely promote native vegetation over food plots since these areas will be difficult to establish otherwise.

Good looking plot though!

Well, that is deffinatly my best dirt,by the eye ball test any way.I dropped off soil samples for my 3 main areas on Monday,so we will see.

Dont know what to do,its just fun pulling my little flip disc through that,it bogs all the way down in that dirt.I dug a 2 foot deep hole the other day for one of my trees, then realized I was way to deep, had to back fill. But very few if any,ROCKS.
