Sounds like a classic case of too much pressure.

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

i agree but sure not from me i can only hunt weekends i have neighbors that hunt every day and shooy what ever walks out

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

BE PATIENT FOOD PLOT WILL COME TO LIFE AROUND END OF MONTH.JUST TO MUCH OUT THERE TO EAT RIGHT NOW,COLD WEATHER SHOULD HELP.

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

The reason the deer aren't out there is because of that high power rifle you are totin around - switch it out with a 12ga and they will come back out. You've just got em scared

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

I still have acorns everywhere on my farm. I haven't really hunted over my food plots though. But walking through them Saturday, I can see that deer aren't using them much.

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

Have you checked for any sign in your plot? Mine is being used very little. With this warm weather there is still a lot of green browse that they are eating but atleast once a week they will ease through my plot mainly at nite or just before day break. It's like they are scoping it out and keeping a close eye on it waiting till the perfect time to devour it. LOL just hope i'm there at the right time.

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

Not a lot of sign in my food plots either. Did a little scouting the woods today and found lots of sign and acorns on the ground everywhere. Deer are there but cameras show a lot of night time moving going on

This is my feelings on the matter. Its weird though because early season I was seeing deer coming into my plots like crazy! The last two maybe three weeks they have vanished. I changed my strategy the last week or so, I have moved up on a ridge with an old logging road running along it coming out of a 7 yr old clear cut. Since doing this my sightings have went back up dramatically, just not seeing the one I want.

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

I'm having the same problem . I seen more signs in the woods than food plots and clear cuts. Everything I have on camera has been at night . This weather and moon defiantly got them screwed up

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

wish i could do that my property is one big square 475yrds long thicket in front of my s house 20acres best time to hunt this is n/nw wind anything else not good wish i could set up else where on property but no way that can happen just because the way the land is oh well it is what it is

Re: if you were a deer would you come here

If other food sources exist, then shooting a deer or two out of a food plot can end almost all use of that plot (at least durng daylight). Deer respond very quickly to harvest pressure.
