Awhile back I remember someone mentioning a device that is attached to the end of a boom-sprayer that drips foam, to produce a guide for where you have sprayed.

Anyone know anything about these devices? I'm really getting tired of missing spots in my food plots.

I don't know of foam but I do know there are dyes red/blue that you can put in your spray to see what you have covered and can get at the co-op or ag supply. I personally have never used them but I know what you mean about missing spots in your plots.

Some call it a foam marker. I'll try to find you a link to a couple of the companies that sell them.

google "foam marker"

the prices over the past 3 years have gone crazy, I bought a 25 gallon foam marker about 9 years ago for $600.00, about 3 years ago a friend of mine bought a 3 gallon foam marker for a yard sprayer for just under $300.00, I/we are now seeing them a "twice" that price

if you ever decide to purchase one, you will love it, and in the long run, it will save you money and time, you will not get "lost" in the plot that you are spraying, you will avoid heavy overlaps[wasting chemicals] and your skips will go away.

most business will have a sale on them in the winter months

I've used them extensively. They don't work no matter how much dye you add.

Thanks ChaneyLake, I'll check them out.

Good info... thanks for letting me know.

foam marker is the only way to go, I also move mine from my 8 row spray boom to my 4 row planter while "no-tiling" my plots, it makes it easy not to get lost in the field/plot. what I enjoy the most about the foam marker is that you basically do not have to think while spraying, just follow the line of foam that you are putting down

Man, I hate thinking, "The last time around did the end of the boom pass just past that clump of fescue, or was it just on the other side of that ragweed plant?"

buy the $299.00 electric one, mount the toggle switch on atv, so that as you are spraying you can flip switch to right or left side of boom

the small hand pump one will drive you crazy

the payback is pretty quick, in savings on time and especially "chemical" savings.

you can also mount your "gps" in the handle bar area of atv, set it on "speed" and get a more uniform application.

all spraying is speed, volume and width
