I wanted to take the boat on the water before painting it to make sure it didn't need any more patch jobs. May touch it up a bit more before painting. Got a heavy wire scrubber that goes on the drill to take the black stuff off (still gonna be a lot of work).

Anyway I went out to a pond with a buddy and I spent about 4 hours on the water fishing for panfish. A few gills and a small crappie... not spectacular fishing but very enjoyable. My friend fished from the bank at first and then got on board after an hour or so.

I had originally intended to float a 2.5-mile stretch of the Harpeth river where you can walk back to the car in less than a mile. River was higher than I would prefer... which would mean more maneuvering and less fishing. Glad I chose the pond instead. Boat did not seem to leak. Took on minimal water from the paddles and condensation (the lake was a lot colder than the air). I'm liking it so far.

Have it RHINO LINED....We built a cooler to take to south ga to put hog meat in on the way home and it sealed it up with no leaks.
