Flag planting will be banned after this week.

It never ends well. I think coaches should make it very clear that flag planting will cause you to sit in the bench or leave the team period. It is instigating a brutal response.

Players have a short fuse anyway from losing a big game at home and for good measure planting their flag is just igniting a short fuse!It will cease to exisit in my opinion!

Not to be argumentative and I understand it instigates a response but if you don't want the opposing team planting their flag on your field then you should have won the game. You have 60 minutes to stop them.

Just bad sportsmanship IMO. You've already humiliated the team by beating them at home, just hold your head up and be a man about it. Jmo
I agree it's not good sportsmanship. It's arrogant. I just don't think it should be a rule. I think the coaches should tell their players not to do if they don't like it.
It would also fuel the rivalry. If Auburn did that to Alabama then they definitely would be using that for motivation next year. You need to be able to take wins and losses like a man.

Sounds like thuggish behavior to me. 😏

It was rivalry week for them. Ohio State should've won the game if they didn't want to take a chance of that happening. Ryan Day has no control of his team.

I love seeing a team celebrating. Does flag planting go to far? Does tearing down the goal post go to far? What's to far? Do we need to restrict the winning team to only being able to win by a touchdown so the loser don't get their feelings hurt? Where does it stop? Do all teams deserve a trophy?
if you lose clear the field and let the winners celebrate. If you don't want them to plant their flag in your field win!

BUT... If you're going to plant the flag, make sure the home team doesn't take it away from you and stomp it into the ground. :D

Michigan is in the market for a new flag...
