Didn't finish in the money, but had 12 pounds by myself. Caught probably 12 keepers and culled for an hour. Just couldn't catch the big "kicker" fish to go with them.

The Denso Bassmasters had a tourney on Watts Bar today, and I fished in it. We launched out of Blue Springs marina at 6:30 a.m and weighed in at 2:30 p.m. I hadn't been bass fishing since last year and was clueless as to where to even start. All the others fish quite a bit and had been going quite a bit.
Started off cool, white capping, and overcast. Ended up calm, sunny, and hot. Got on a spinnerbait bite early on in the morning but only slicks on that. My partner had a 3-4 pounder do the head shake/jump on him and lost it. We started on spawning grounds but evidently the fish where we started at have already spawned. We made a move to the main lake and fished some humps near the river channel and I got on a c-rig fish catching frenzy. I caught in the teens of fish...but only 2 keepers. One was a 3 pounder and the other just a 16" fish. Our tourney was a 3 fish limit and I was stuck with 2 fish to weigh in, and we kept reliving that 3-4 pounder's head shake over and over LOL.
Long story short, there was 11 boats that showed. Everybody had fish to weigh in. 9 pounds and some change won it. They had the same size fish of everybody else, except they got that one big bite and got it in the boat. They had a 5.31 lb fish as the kicker, and two 15" fish. If my partner had got his in, we'd of had 7-8 pounds and could have got 2nd. Everybody was catching lots of numbers of fish...short ones, until the wind died and the sun popped out. Most people were saying they didn't get a bite after 12...which was about when the wind died, and the yahoos started riding the waters in jet skis, and big boats.
