Hunting has mostly taken a back seat this year, but was able to make a set this evening. Called with hand call for about 2 min and went quiet to watch. After about 2 more min, this female crossed into the field at about 100yd and locked eyes right on my location. I sat still for about 5 min until she looked away, and I then I had to turn to get sights on her. 140gr ELD did a number on exit...

Happy to be out making a set, and thankful for the success. First blood with the new Savage 16 LWH. Still wearing the stickers.

Thank you. I've carried heavy barrel rifles for many years, and I got tired of lugging them around. Wanted to try a lighter setup, and im liking it so far.

Another rifle on my list now is a Tikka T3 light in .223.
