Yesterday morning as I was leaving the house to go do some work on my hunting property I saw a young neighborhood buck. He had apparently just rubbed his four-point rack. It was wet and bloody looking.That's a good sign I thought. Hadn't been in the woods on my place very long when I saw this. This rub appeared to be made by a very small buck but within hours of me being there. Now what I want to see is a 4-in. diameter tree rubbed bare. That would get me going.

Good to see it starting! And small-diameter rubbed trees doesn't mean it wasn't an older buck. All bucks make small rubs. Only older bucks make big rubs.
