First KY bird

Bit the bullet and got my KY license and killed on the second day of hunting (Monday). They weren't gobbling, but I heard him walking up the ridge to me about 5 minutes after I ran the wingbone call, 12:50 PM. Wasn't sure if it was a Jake or not, and he started to booger, but I caught glimpse of a long beard and he gave me a brief window to shoot him at 35 yards.

He had one Jake feather in his fan, 1/2" nub spurs, and a long beard. Funny bird

Yeah I bought my deer permit as well. I was gonna go last September and the transmission in my dodge blew out on the way up. Burned money on the license and never used it. I'll try again this year

Post oak leaves are extra crunchy...it sounded like a person was walking up to me, but I knew it was a turkey, he came out of a real steep holler

Doesn't matter what kind of leaves they are I still can't hear anything walking in the leaves. Back when my daughter hunted with me a lot, she was my ears for stuff like that
