Spent the afternoon of New Years Eve looking all over Williamsport for rabbits with my dad and found zero. I did happen to hear a squirrel making a lot of noise so I slowly headed toward it and saw this guy sitting on a limb looking directly at me. I slowly took the Spred-R loads out of my shotgun since those are for rabbits only, loaded a high brass 6 in there, not taking my eyes off him in case he ran, and dropped him with one shot. A friend told me Gray squirrels taste better so I'll find out. I have plenty of those being cooked this weekend too! This Fox Squirrel was the size of a rabbit! I'm glad to see with the new forums we can attach pictures rather than have to embed them :tu:

If you're looking for them on the interior of your woods you may not find any. You'll see more of them hunting the edges of the timber especially bordering corn fields.

Yet to see any fox squirrel out east. The greys I used to hunt in NY were the size of small house cats and more of a true grey color than they are here.

Nice!... really like the shotgun, what is it?

It's an old Franchi, made in Italy. It's a great gun and it's actually my Father's. He's letting me borrow it to do some rabbit hunting with until I buy one. I used it for Dove season too and I really like it.
