I was lucky enough today to bag this mainframe ten point this afternoon at around 4:30 pm.This is my first buck in two years, I had seen several decent deer this season but no shooters. It had been a slow afternoon, so I decided to get aggressive. I decided to rattle and no sooner than I set the horns down after rattling, I saw this buck step out of the woods. He made a scrape, pinned his ears back and came straight towards my stand. This buck covered 100 yards or so in 2 or 3 minutes. Needless to say it was very exciting, I had buck fever big time. I let this buck get to within 30 yards and when he turned broadside, I took my shot. I knew I hit him good. This season has been frustrating and discouraging but I didn't give up. Day after day I kept dragging my butt to the woods praying this result would occur eventually. This is my first true main frame ten point. His g2 on his right side is broken but I couldn't care less. I am awful proud of him. I am far from an expert hunter but I try my hardest and learn everytime I go to the woods, so my lessons from this hunt is NEVER GIVE UP. Just about everything I could screw up on a hunt was screwed up at some point this season, but packing up and quitting was never an option. So my advice to all my brothers and sisters that also enjoy this sport I love so much, stay in the stand, go to the woods even if you don't feel like it, and don't quit. I was once again taught this lesson today. Sorry for blabbing so long, good luck to you all... shoot straight!
