Fine afternoon for tree time

I am in a chinkapin oak, next to 2 others, with more behind me and to my right as well. Acorns on the ground and squirrels keeping my alertness up. Jumped a deer when I first came in at 2 pm. Staying till dark

Definitely a nice afternoon but once again 0 deer from stand. Not sure where to set up in morning, will just pick a spot I guess. Kind of starts to get disappointing when you have been on at least 10 hunts and not seeing deer from the stand repeatedly. Tomorrow ill hunt till mid morning then break out the shotgun and look for turkeys. Need another cold front, that's when I saw the most deer.

not when I have hopes of seeing deer, it was a lot deader than anticipated. Would love to blast a couple of the noise makers though

i used to be like that. run home everyday after school jump on the four wheeler and ride to a farm to bow hunt. now i would take a mess of squirrels over a deer every time.

i used to be like that. run home everyday after school jump on the four wheeler and ride to a farm to bow hunt. now i would take a mess of squirrels over a deer every time.

nobody kills squirrels like you do, but I get a lot more excited just to have a deer under the stand than I do to kill a few squirrel. When deer start coming in close, I start shaking... when squirrels come in close, I look to make sure it's not a deer.
