Thanks to my bro-in-law giving me his vintage John Deere horse drawn 2-row corn planter that his family had converted to 3-point hitch I was able to pretty easily get this plot and three other strips planted yesterday after work. I planted round-up ready corn in all but one small strip where I planted soybeans. It takes me 150 lbs of fertilizer….wow! $27 per bag for 19-19-19 at our local Co-Op!
These corn planters are amazing…built to last forever. It's probably already 70 years old and there is no reason it shouldn't outlast me!
Rain in the forecast for tomorrow….hopefully the weatherman gets this one right!

We had an old one that looked like that. Gave it to my FIL after we bought a no-till drill. They definitely outlast their expiration date!
